Ignite UKI, Étude Op.1, No.i++

What does collaboration sound like?
Using a year's worth of Slack messages from #ignite-london, I created an algorithm to turn the cadence of our collaboration into a symphony.

I used message properties to develop the algorithm:

Length of message determines the note duration.

The seniority of the sender roughly determines the pitch. (The lower the pitch, the more senior the sender.)

Keep this in mind as you listen. Are there lots of drones or chords? That's long messages back and forth. Is the music very bass heavy? That's lots of senior people dominating the conversation. Are there any pauses? A constant stream of notes means lots of chatter and responses.

Note: the original version of Ignite Etude included some visuals. I've moved it from it's standalone React site to this site built on NextJS and there's a lot of refactoring to do. Until then, enjoy it in audio only.
