Behavioural systems - how to make change stick

Talks are always a good catalyst for bringing some thinking together. I was pleased to have the opportunity at Miro Distributed to solidify (if only briefly) some attempts to bring design thinking, systems thinking, and behavioural science together.

The challenges that we find ourselves being asked to help clients work through are getting bigger - how banks should think about financial inclusion and equity, how to help their customers develop good financial behaviours, how energy companies should help their customers to reduce their carbon emissions; what's the role of the office and how can cities adapt to changing working patterns?

My hope is that by the end of this talk you feel like you've got a tool that will help you to think about that problem in a new way, to play with it, something that will allow you to hold it in your hand, pull it apart, examine bits, and bring them back together.

That talk (in case the embed above doesn't work) is here.

The Miro board I presented and that remains full of rabbit holes to explore is here.
